Aahhhh! It all makes sense now.
Oh So Spicy: Orochon
I had seen Little Tokyo's Orochon Ramen featured on Food Network's Man v. Food some time ago and had put it on my list of things to do, or rather eat.
I'm sorry to say I was quite disappointed. I had ordered the "Orochon 2" with Soy Sauce broth which is not nearly as spicy as the "Special 2" which Man v. Food's Adam had sweated his way through. The flavor of the broth was lacking and the consistency of the ramen wasn't even as good as that of the packaged kind. (I'd recommend Koraku instead.) Each bowl comes with very tiny bits of pork and various veggies such as bamboo and black mushroom. I had ordered additional bean sprouts and egg but even that was sparsely found in the mass of noodles.
The upside of this displeasing food experience was watching my guy friends choke and cough while trying to consume the spicy soup in a macho manner. Hahaha.
